classes
First time students please arrive 15 minutes early to register (see policies). You may start class at your earliest convenience as each beginning class is ongoing. Students may drop-in whenever they are ready to begin. For further questions, please call 804-359-9642.
We offer daily classes for all levels in a variety of styles. Students are encouraged to work at their own rate, concentrating on their form, alignment and breath.
Postures are explained and demonstrated thoroughly to allow students to grasp the physical, mental and emotional benefits derived from each one.
We use a “level” system to describe the degree of difficulty or intensity students can expect in our classes. These levels apply to all types of classes.
Guide to Levels:
- All Levels: Appropriate for beginning through advanced students, this category includes classes such as Yin Yoga, Gentle, and Relax & Renew.
- Beginning: For new students, or those returning to yoga after some time away, this well-rounded practice provides a foundation in yoga fundamentals. Recommended for your first six to twelve weeks of practice.
- Level I: Appropriate for students with some previous yoga experience. This class focuses on building strength with standing poses, covering proper alignment and breath work.
- Level I-II: These more actively paced classes include movement with breath, with emphasis on building endurance. Level II poses will be introduced. Not recommended for first time students.
- Level II: This intermediate practice requires a solid understanding of standing poses. Strengthening preparations for forearm balances and headstand are introduced and practiced regularly. No beginners.
These specialized classes are designed for more in-depth study. Registration is required for each course. Please call 804-359-9642.
