Hatha (or physical) yoga is the umbrella term for the varying styles of yoga practiced in the West. Styles such as: Iyengar, Integral, Ashtanga, Anusara, Vinyasa Flow, Core Flow, Gentle, Restoratives, and Yin yoga all have their roots based in the Hatha yoga lineage.
Within a Hatha class, you will learn traditional postures and techniques that offer you a well-rounded and balanced practice. Traditional chants, pranayama (breath work) and meditation are incorporated before and after the physical practice of postures. Often times the teacher will draw from the many styles mentioned above depending on their background and training.
