Prenatal Yoga Classes

Prenatal Yoga classes provide an opportunity to deepen your awareness of your changing body and mind as you prepare for the life-changing events of birth and becoming a parent.

Instructors Leslie Lytle and Mary Jo Lowery combine stretching, breathing and relaxation techniques to offer relief from the common discomforts of pregnancy, while strengthening the body, heart and mind in preparation for labor and delivery. Every class offers an opportunity to connect with other women in various stages of pregnancy.

Prenatal classes meet once a week in 8-week sessions, with rolling admissions.

Cost: Effective January 1, 2008: $110 for 8-week series (one class per week); $195 if taking 2 classes per week for 8 weeks

Itsy Bitsy Yoga®

Itsy Bitsy® yoga classes are a fun, relaxing way to facilitate your baby's development and wellbeing. Based on the Itsy Bitsy Yoga method developed by Helen Garabedian, our classes promote parent/baby relaxation and bonding, help your baby to sleep longer and better, and provide helpful tips to calm fussy or crying babies. An excellent opportunity to meet other mothers with babes of a similar age. Also open to aunts, uncles, grandparents, or any of baby's significant others. Bring a friend, take a class, and then have lunch on Cary Street!

Yoga for Infants (3 months to pre-crawling)

Yoga for Tots (actively crawling to 24 months)

  • $75 per 5 week session

  • Wednesdays: July 9 - August 13  (no class July 23rd)

Registration and full payment is required for this series class. Refunds, less a $10 handling fee, will be given with a minimum of 10 days advance notice of cancellation. No refunds will be given if you decide not to attend. In the event that Yoga Source must cancel this class, we will notify you as soon as possible and full credit or refund will be given. To register call 804-359-YOGA.

Please note: Itsy Bitsy® Yoga classes are based on developmental stages rather than specific ages. Generally, the Infant class is appropriate for newborns to approximately 6 months. Regardless of your baby's age, babies who are not yet crawling and still enjoy being on their backs will probably do well in the Infant Yoga class. Babies who have reached a developmental stage where they prefer to sit up and look out at the world most of the time will find the Tot class a more appropriate fit.
