300 hour overview
The YogaWorks 300 hour Professional Program supplements the YogaWorks 200 hour Teacher Training and upon completion yields over 500 hours of intensive study in yoga. This program provides students with an opportunity to build upon the material introduced in the 200 hour Teacher Training, integrate what they’ve learned through practical application in the classroom, and support the development of their individual voice and style as a yoga teacher. Through a combination of workshops and apprenticeship with a Yoga Source Senior Mentor, students will refine their teaching skills, identify areas of expertise, and set the foundation for fully incorporating yoga into their life path. This program also offers participants the opportunity to study with Senior YogaWorks Faculty as well as guest Professors from local Universities. The depth of knowledge and wisdom offered by these seasoned teachers makes this program a must for anyone wishing to study or teach with greater authenticity and integrity.
This program is open to all yoga instructors holding a 200 hour certification interested in advancing their knowledge, practice and teaching of yoga. For those who have completed a non-YogaWorks 200 hour Teacher Training, you will be required to take the Immersion as a prerequisite to the 300 hour Professional Program. about the program
professional weekend workshop series
This comprehensive curriculum consists of weekend workshops that progress from the basics of developing confidence and delivery, observations skills, and injury assessment strategies to understanding how to sequence classes for different ages, seasons and needs. Equipped with proper training, a yoga teacher can create the context to promote healing, improve the quality of people’s lives, and celebrate vitality.
apprenticeship
Through the Apprenticeship program, students will benefit from working more closely with a senior teacher at Yoga Source. In this component of the course, participants continue to cultivate their teaching skills by applying them practically, in the class room. Additionally, trainees build upon what they learned in their initial training, solidifying and integrating the information through a consistent, one-on-one relationship and on-going dialogue with their mentor. As assistants in their mentors classes, trainees hone their ability to see bodies and give hands on adjustments. In addition, they have the opportunity to observe a senior teacher instructing, sequencing, adjusting and inspiring their students, and through this process to imprint these crucial elements of superlative teaching. One monthly group meeting will reinforce this learning process and serve as a forum to address questions and issues related to teaching yoga. Individual mentor meetings will be scheduled between trainee and mentor separately.
