since 1990
The path to becoming a professional yoga teacher is a unique, satisfying, and life-affirming journey. Here at Yoga Source, we offer one of the world’s most comprehensive Teacher Training Programs for aspiring teachers and serious students of yoga. The program is rooted in YogaWorks' deep history as an eclectic school that embraces and celebrates many styles of Yoga. Their mission is to provide each Yoga teacher with the foundation to teach skillfully with compassion, safety, and integrity, while honoring his or her individual voice and style.

about yogaworks teacher training

YogaWorks offers a cohesive, multi-specialist approach to teacher training that blends the best of the Yoga tradition from the East and West. The faculty is comprised of highly-trained, experienced, inspiring professionals with a profound understanding of Yoga’s transformative power.

At the cornerstone of their teaching philosophy is the idea that the concepts of Yoga must be first understood through the body and the dynamic, conscious practice of asana. The YogaWorks method is a blending of the three strands of the Krishnamacharya lineage-Ashtanga, Iyengar and the teachings of Desikachar coupled with the unique approach to sequencing that is specifically designed to meet the needs of the average yoga student. From Ashtanga the method incorporates heat and flow, from Iyengar precise detailed instructions and from the teachings of Desikachar, posture modifications-the idea that the practice should fit the practitioner. The programs emphasize a student’s personal practice as the source for their creative teaching, and include a comprehensive study of the techniques and mechanics of fundamental yoga postures, as well as the tools necessary to teach and inspire others. To deepen their education students will also study functional anatomy and physiology, explore Yoga’s philosophical underpinnings, practice meditation and pranayama, and investigate the ancient science of Ayurveda.

YogaWorks’ suite of programs includes the 200 hour teacher training, a foundational teacher training program for serious students and aspiring teachers, and the additional 300 hour professional program, a secondary teacher-training program for developing teachers. If you are a graduate of a non-YogaWorks 200 hour Teacher Training, you will be required to take a bridge program before the start date of the 300 hour Professional Program.

about yogaworks

YogaWorks was founded in 1988 by the now world-renowned Ashtanga yoga teachers Maty Ezraty and Chuck Miller, at the urging of Tantric yoga master Alan Finger. They were the first yogis to create a school that brought the many different styles of yoga together in one place. Today YogaWorks has become a thriving yoga resource and community of teachers and students as well as one of the most comprehensive and most respected teacher training programs in the world. Over the years, YogaWorks has earned a reputation for making quality yoga accessible to all. To learn more about YogaWorks, visit yogaworks.com.
