Brooke Fricke

Brooke Fricke, LMT, PMA®-CPT, RYT-200

Brooke is a Mama, a teacher, a massage therapist/bodyworker and small business grower. Her curiosity for life and thirst for experience has given her the privilege of studying with an array of teachers from many backgrounds and traditions. A professional dance career ending knee injury opened the door to her love of rehabilitative movement and her desire to help others living with chronic pain. Brooke’s teaching style is eclectic and draws from the colorful tapestry of traditions that she’s educated in; Pilates, Kundalini Yoga, Hatha/Vinyasa Yoga, Gentle Somatic Yoga, Functional Range Conditioning, Kinstretch®, Dance, Meditation, Thai Massage. 

First and foremost Brooke hopes to facilitate a deeper understanding of one’s true nature through movement and self inquiry. While she loves working with all people, her passion is working with women over the age of 45+. 

 

Brooke grew up in New York and began studying ballet at the age of 12. She studied at the School of American Ballet at Lincoln Center and attended Fiorello H. Laguardia High School for the Performing Arts. Brooke attended Virginia Commonwealth University’s Dance and Choreography Department under the tutelage of Chris Burnside. In 1993 she traveled to Missoula Montana to visit her sisters and never returned, she graduated from The University of Montana-Missoula in 1996 and then returned to New York City. Brooke danced professionally until 2004 and had the privilege of working with Douglas Dunn and Dancers, David Neumann and Dancers, Annie B. Parson, Terry Dean Bartlett to name a few

 

In 2005, Brooke relocated to Richmond, Virginia to be closer to her family. In 2013, after teaching for local RVA studios, Brooke opened Re:form Richmond Pilates. In 2015, Brooke and her family moved to Asia, where they lived for 3 years in China and Singapore. Upon returning to the States, Brooke opened Helix Body Arts and in January 2022 will open  s a n c t u a r y  Wellness Oasis.
