Dawn Traver
Dawn felt called to yoga in the early 1990s. She studied for a number of years under Iyengar teachers in Williamsburg before
moving to Richmond in 2014, where she currently lives with her dog, Lila. Dawn completed her 200 hour training in 2018
and followed that up with additional training in restorative yoga. While working full-time at the VA Department of Behavioral
Health and Developmental Services, she is enjoying substitute teaching, as well as offering yoga classes through the state
“Commonhealth” program. When she’s not working or practicing yoga, Dawn enjoys reading, the theater, communing with
nature, and spending time with her young adult daughter who lives in Williamsburg and rides horses compeFFvely. Some of
Dawn's best memories include practicing yoga on the beach in Costa Rica and in a shala in Italy looking out onto the neighboring
hills and sea.
