SAFE STUDIO PROTOCOL
Yoga Source is beyond thrilled to welcome you back to your favorite classes again. We are here to make sure our classes are safe for everyone, so you’ll notice a few key changes when you return to the studio.
LET’S GET BACK TO OUR PRACTICE, SAFELY.
Every aspect of our studios operations has been reevaluated to help make the transition back to your mat with your safety in mind. Please make sure to review our updated policies so your arrival to class is smooth and easy for everyone. The following changes support social distancing and to make sure the studio environment is clean and compliant with state guidelines.
Let’s review the changes to our studio flow! We will have smaller class sizes, a modified class schedule where we’ll gradually add more classes as in studio attendance increases, and thorough deep cleans with disinfectants proved to kill viruses like COVID-19. Please read further to learn how your practice will be safer than ever upon your return.
OUR INITIAL CLASS SCHEDULE
We’re modifying our class schedule to support social distancing and keep our teachers and clients safe. To start, our studio will be open for
1 class a day, 4 days a week (select classes will be live-streamed.) We will add classes as attendance grows to eventually get back to
our daily class schedule.
ONE HOUR BETWEEN CLASSES
We have added at least one hour between classes to carefully turn over the studios, sanitize all surfaces and
disinfect the space. And on a weekly basis, we’ll be deep cleaning studios to attend to every surface.
SMALLER CLASS SIZES
Class sizes will be significantly reduced so mats are at least six feet apart to comply VA mandated social distance guidelines.
BEFORE YOU GET HERE
We can't wait to see you back at the studio. Before you arrive, we ask that you prepare yourself with
these few steps to keep our community safe.
CHECK IN WITH YOURSELF
Give yourself a health check. If you feel unwell, we ask you stay home. Anyone who exhibits symptoms will be asked to leave. If you aren’t feeling well, have a cough, fever or symptoms of COVID-19, please don’t attend class for your wellbeing and that of your teachers and fellow yogis. If you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been in close contact with someone who has, we ask that you not come to the studio for 14 days
or until you’ve tested negative. You can opt to stay home and register for a livestream class instead. Annual & Monthly Members may take a class from our On Demand Video Library in addition to our livestream offerings.
To limit studio crowding and social interactions, you must reserve your spot prior to class. To attend class, you are required to
reserve your spot before class by using the MindBody app or our website. Walk-ins are not permitted at this time.
Doors will be locked once class begins so late arrivals will not be permitted.
NEW CANCELATION AND NO SHOW POLICY
Please note due to limited capacity, all in studio class reservations must be made 2 hrs in advance.
Please adhere to our revised 2-hour cancelation policy and a no show policy below. Reservations may be canceled up to through your Yoga Source account (MINDBODY login.) Thank you for your understanding while we operate under a very limited capacity during COVID-19 precautions.
Late Cancel Policy: Your reservation will be charged in full for cancellations made less than 2 hours in advance.
Unlimited monthly and yearly members will be charged a $15 cancellation fee.
No Show Policy: A $15 No Show Fee will be charged for clients who did not arrive for class by class start time and did not cancel their reservation before class time.
WEAR A MASK
Per VA mandate, face masks will be required while in all public spaces at the studio. Please arrive with your mask on and remove once you are seated on your mat; mask-wearing is optional during class. Wearing a mask will help stop the spread
of unwanted germs.
BRING YOUR OWN PROPS
Bring everything you need for your yoga practice. Mats & props will no longer be available to borrow, so bring everything you need to enjoy class. All Barre classes will utilize free weights & body balls which will be sanitized before & after each class.
With every class, your temperature may be taken prior to entering the studio to provide the safest possible environment for everyone to practice. All staff members will have their temperature checked before every shift/class.
Please maintain at least 6 feet of distance between you, your fellow yogis, and teachers at all times. Follow the floor
markers to give your fellow yogis space.
DESIGNATED MAT PLACEMENT
Please use the mat placement floor markers we’ve carefully measured to ensure a proper distance while inside our studios.
NO HANDS-ON ADJUSTMENTS
Teachers will be offering verbal assists only. Hands-on adjustments will not be offered.
For everyone’s safety, clients who are coughing excessively will be asked to leave.
Disinfecting products proven to kill viruses like COVID-19 will be available for safe and easy disinfecting throughout your studio visit. After every class, we’ll be disinfecting high touch surfaces including doorknobs, handles, light switches, sanitizing stations, bathrooms, sinks, toilets, benches, and the front desk. We’ll also be increasing the frequency of deep cleans of the studios from top to bottom.
We know socializing after class is a big part of our community, but for now, please avoid gathering afterwards. Instead, promptly leave the studio
to maintain social distancing and allow for our team’s ability to clean studio.

Yoga Source began in 1998 with four pioneering women of the decade, Lynn Brooke, Anne Battle, Joann Bibb & Pam McGeorge.
Lynn Brooke and Anne Battle, along with Pam McGeorge and Joann Bibb, co-founded Yoga Source in one room at St. Stephen’s Church in 1998. From those modest beginnings, an increased demand for more yoga classes inspired the founders to move to the Carytown location in 2000. By 2002, renovations began to expand the upstairs suite from two practice rooms to three, a retail space, lounge area, and five massage suites.
In June 2007, Lynne and Anne "passed the torch" to yoga instructors and then managers, Myra Dionisio and Tia Platte. Both women were involved with the studio in every way imaginable for ten years, dedicating their lives to the mission set before them. Committed to continuing the work began by those four female pioneers, Myra and Tia co-managed daily operations, personnel and studio management, taught public yoga classes, led workshops, and contributed to the teacher training programs offered each year.
In January 2018, Tia Platte became sole-proprietor of Yoga Source and continues to fulfill the Yoga Source mission of providing the community with a source of inspiration offering
a wide range of movement modalities from yoga classes to barre fitness, 200-hr and 300-hr yoga teacher training programs, yoga and barre apprenticeship programs, and continuing education workshops.
Yoga Source provides a non-dogmatic space of learning for anyone seeking to develop themselves physically, mentally and spiritually no matter what age or stage of life. All are welcome in this home.
