Lynne's journey towards becoming a devoted yogi, and eventually a yoga teacher, began with the Ashtanga Primary Series. She found the practice physically and mentally challenging while being soothingly meditative and steeped in tradition. As her practice deepened, she began sharing her love of Ashtanga with the incarcerated women of the Richmond City Jail. Witnessing the transformative power of yoga on these women's lives inspired her to follow her dharma and become a certified yoga teacher.
Lynne is a 500 E-RYT, classically trained at Yoga Source by the internationally acclaimed YogaWorks instructor, Anne Van Valkenburg. Lynne currently teaches Vinyasa and Yin Yoga, which she finds creative, expansive, and truly alive. Her classes emphasize anatomy-informed alignment, the breath, and intention, leading to the ultimate cultivation of energy and awareness of presence. Lynne encourages her students to experience yoga through their own bodies' sensations, and through their thought patterns, to find a safe and satisfying practice filled with self-compassion and acceptance of their own beautiful uniqueness. Always a student, Lynne has continued to enrich her practice through in-depth training in Yoga Anatomy, Pranayama, Meditation, Ayurveda, and Yin. She is a devoted student of ParaYoga founder Rod Stryker and maintains a personal meditation practice. Lynne is inspired by the dedication of her students, the love of her friends and family, and the many blessings in her life that continue to unfold.
